With an early support from Nathan Coles, Eddie Amador, Tony Thomas, Sonny Wharton, Tom Blacksoul,
Murray Richardson, Jeff Vaz, Gonzalo Menoyo and many others around the globe...

The journey continues, & we feel like it's just about time to "Fuel Up the Beat".
Artefact Records presents our second release, EP by the Macedonian producer Dejan Dex.

In "Fuel Up the Beat" Dex is really pumping his sounds with jackin beats & funky baselines.
"Give It To Him" floats on a contagious rhythm that's gonna stick in your ears, making your head move,
& "3 in 1" has it all: milky quirky melody, sugar coated bases & caffeine energizing vocals.
So whether you choose to consume your "dosage" in your armchair, or dancing your shoes out on the floor,
Dejan Dex has ensured that you stay fueled up with great beats.
Goldie's son has been sentenced to life imprisonment today (September 7) after being found guilty of killing a disabled man in 2008.

Jamie Price stabbed Marlon Morris four times – once fatally in the heart – in Wolverhampton city centre on August 24, 2008. He is said to have chased Morris, who was unarmed, before attacking him. Morris, who was disabled, was an associate of the Pendeford Crew, while Price was a member of the Heath Town gang, reports the Independent.

Goldie was not at Nottingham Crown Court court today, where Judge John Milmo QC sentenced Price to at least 21 years in prison. The judge blamed gang culture for the murder.

He said: "The refusal of gangs to accept the law of the land, coupled with the desire to impose their own anarchic ways, cannot be tolerated by society."

He added: "In a case of this kind there are no winners, only losers. Everyone involved here has lost and lost in a very significant sense, whether the sentence is one of life or one of death."

Symbio’s original EP on Blipswitch from last year gets the 2010 remix treatment from some serious talent. Most notably, Toronto dubstep/bass star XI brings a heavy-hitting mix with heavy beats, beautiful progressions, and a stand-out lead synth like you haven’t heard in awhile. Next up, Norcal’s Oilpanic gives us a little deep tissue massage with a driving techno monster that amps up the original’s rolling beats. And just in time for Burning Man, n8chur brings the electro house funk to the table with a slamming remix of his own.

(1) XI Remix (Bass, Dubstep, Glitch)
(2) Oilpanic Remix (Deep, Tech House, Minimal)
(3) n8chur Remix (Electro House)
Last year's party was insane in the membrane and if it goes off 50% as big as it did last year it's still gonna be crackin. Some great costumes, some great music and a barrel of laughs. I took my work friends to this last year and converted them into fans of house music. We partied untill deep into the night with the older crowd and enjoyed ourselves to the bone. Teaser flyer up and full line up to be released soon.

10 Things To Do At Burning Man

Today marks the first day of Burning Man, the infamous gathering of freaks, fools and flashers that takes place every year in the Nevada Desert. Part hippie commune, part cyber rave, all covered in dust, Burning Man is a place where you go to discover the unexpected. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have something of plan (besides what order to take your drugs in). Here’s a small list of what we suspect will be worthy this week at “The Man.” But don’t be afraid to follow your own path, man.

1. Gin & Juice Bar @ Skid Row Camp

A group of Math graduate students created the All-American Biergarten in 2008. This year they return with the skid row inspired Gin & Juice party for the secret Snoop Dogg inside all burners. Malt Liquor will also be served for those who spiritually veer towards Eazy-E.

2. Elite Force

DJs love to play Burning Man, but apparently none more that UK’s Elite Force who has a dozen performances scheduled under various guises in just four days. Check his full schedule here.

3. Mutant Audio Post

If DJ beats are little to “normal” for you, this enclave dedicated to all out-there audio is a good place to hear something different. You can even play their experimental instruments yourself—which will sound great to you and you alone.

4. Cheezy Porn Camp

With all the naked people running around The Playa, you wouldn’t think porn would be needed—but with nights dedicated to Big Hair ’80s Porn (Tue), Pirate Porn (Wed), Fetish Porn (Thu) and that X-rate classic Caligula (Fri), you’ll want to stop in for some of the VHS hotness.

5. Anonymous Village

Believe it or not, not only do some folks to Burning Man Sober, they attend AA and NA meetings that take place in their own dedicated camp. There’s also Camp Stella, dedicated to gay and sober individuals. Go for the cigarettes and coffee. Just don’t show up wasted.

6. Bassyx

And now back to your regularly scheduled raving. Bassyx Camp offers a ful line-up throughout the weekend, including global superstar Dubfire and UK ambient casualties, The Orb. Full schedule here.

7. Serotonin Rejuvenation Camp

And after a good night of raving it up on the Playa, who couldn’t use a little boost in the old uptake receptors. No one knows for sure the effectiveness of most brain chemical supplements, but we can all appreciate the hangover healing power of bacon—which will be served.

8. Gamerz Camp

For many, the hardest thing about a week at Burning Man is a week away from our beloved video games. This camp let’s you get your gamer on—unplugged—with everything from basic board games to LARP (yep, that’s Live Action Role Playing, you nerds.)

9. Champagne Lounge

The only thing better than dehydration in the desert might be dehydration topped with a nice sugary hangover. Champagne is served every day at high noon, which should be just the time you’re waking up.

10. Chakra Dome

Many Burners say will insist that The Man is more than just a week-long party, but it is in fact a chance to pursue spiritual enlightenment in an environment free of the normal constraints of society. So the very least you can do is catch a little bit of the new age vibes. Just don’t forget your yoga mat.

Tickets never went on sale and promotions were never staged, but a planned headlining concert by electronic artist Tiësto is the center of a seven-figure civil suit filed against the city of Los Angeles on Friday. Local dance promoter Insomniac Inc. claims the city breached its contract when it canceled what would have been an Oct. 30 concert by the well-known trance artist in the West Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center.

On Monday, the mayor’s office referred requests for comments to the convention center, and a spokeswoman for the facility said no statement or comment would be forthcoming. In its filing, Insomniac -- the company that also staged the now-controversial two-day Electric Daisy Carnival in and around L.A. Memorial Coliseum in late June -- claims that the city did not have proper cause to terminate the concert, for which tickets were to go on sale Aug. 17.

Insomniac writes in its complaint that the city cited the rampant use of the drug Ecstasy at Electric Daisy, as well as the death of a teenage girl who attended the concert and died of a suspected overdose, as its reasons for calling off the Tiësto appearance. In its claims for damages, Insomniac cited more than a dozen recent deaths at or after major music or sporting events, including that of a 27-year-old man who died after being punched at a Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim game, essentially arguing that the Tiësto appearance was unfairly singled out because of public perceptions of dance and electronic rave-like concerts.

“Events like [Electric Daisy] and the Tiësto concert are held at legal venues and are planned in conjunction with law enforcement and medical personnel,” reads the claim. “[The Convention Center’s] unilateral termination of the contract will send the wrong message by suppressing the popularization of electronic music, encouraging it to revert back to its underground, unsafe beginnings.”

Insomniac is asking for damages of at least $1,015,180, citing a loss of profit of $436,250 and an estimated production cost of $668,750. Court documents state that Tiësto was guaranteed $250,000 for the single-night event. The artist’s management, Complete Control, did not respond to requests for comment.

Insomniac, which promoted five sold-out Tiësto shows in and around Los Angeles in 2008 and 2009, noted that its planned convention center event was no different from Sunday’s concert at the Hollywood Bowl, which featured dance act the Chemical Brothers.

“I can’t help but draw comparisons to the ’80s movie classic ‘Footloose,’ where dancing and rock music were banned,” Insomniac founder Pasquale Rotella is quoted in a statement. The company believed as recently as Aug. 4 that the Tiësto concert was a go, but less than two weeks later, the city returned Insomniac’s second rental payment of $14,400.

“If this breach is allowed to stand, Insomniac will be known as a promoter that cannot follow through on its commitments,” reads the filing. “As a result, artists of Tiësto’s caliber may henceforth by unwilling to contract with Insomniac.”

A copy of Insomniac’s rental agreement with the convention center notes that the city may terminate the contract for the reason of “good cause.” Should it do so, reads the contract, the “tenant agrees to waive and forgo any and all claims for damages against City by reason of such termination... Tenant shall have no recourse of any kind against city.”

The dance community has faced strict scrutiny in Los Angeles since the Electric Daisy Carnival, which drew an estimated crowd of 80,000 to 100,000 people per day, and led to more than 100 hospitalizations. Two days after the event, 15-year-old Sasha Rodriguez died of suspected drug-related causes.

The Coliseum Commission then imposed a temporary ban on rave contracts, although three events scheduled for the remainder of 2010 were granted approval to continue. The commission -- the joint state, county and city panel that oversees the venue -- has, however, imposed new restrictions on the promoters of dance events.

Going forward, promoters must enforce a strict age limit of 18 by checking identification, hire a team of emergency-room doctors to work on-site and warn rave-goers about the dangers of the illegal drug Ecstasy. The July 17 electronic-focused Hard L.A., which was to feature appearances by M.I.A. and Die Antwoord, among others, was canceled, and promoter Gary Richards noted that the city forced “a lot of extra stipulations and requirements” that “resulted in unforeseen costs to the event.”

A heavily policed Aug. 7 festival, Hard Summer, went off as planned, and resulted in only four arrests. An Aug. 21 dance concert at the L.A. Sports Arena didn’t fare as well, resulting in more than 80 arrests and three hospitalizations.
INFINITI & Anjunabeats present...

Jay Tech

Cementing his position as one of the leading lights within deep, uplifting electronic music, Jaytech’s monthly mix show ‘Jaytech Music’ now airs on radio stations across the globe and is downloaded by thousands as a monthly podcast. Chosen to headline the Anjunadeep room at Anjunabeats' flagship party at this year’s Miami WMC, he remains the number one headline DJ within the core Anjunadeep family. Proof of his rising stock behind the turntables, a packed DJ diary has recently taken in dates at Ibiza’s Amnesia and Japan’s world-famous Womb. In the past year he has also traveled the vast corners of his Australian homeland with the Future Music Festival and taken his uplifting and perfectly paced sound on tour in America — both as support to Above & Beyond and on his own solo tours.

Kenneth Thomas

"Kenneth Thomas is without doubt one of the most promising young DJs in the electronic scene right now. There's an intelligence and a well defined style to his sets. He's quickly emerging as one to watch in the next generation of superstar DJs." When Paul Oakenfold has this to say about someone people can tend to stop and take a listen.

Over the past 5 years he's completed over 50 tracks and remixes for labels including Perfecto, Hope, Armada, Om, Cuurve, Alter Ego, Pacha and more. Now, busy working on his debut artist album forthcoming in late 2009 as well as recent remixes for David Guetta, Jan Johnston, Oliver Moldan, Jeff Mills and even Scott Wieland, we have seen this 'Dj at heart' break new ground in the areas of production. Also on the plate, beyond DJing and producing, KT is A&R for Oakenfolds' Perfecto Records, helping spearhead the renaissance of one of the greatest labels dance music has ever seen.

It was a night like many other…. I'd served my time at the job I sell my soul at for an hourly wage…and I was finding ignorant bliss by the blue glow of a television set. I shut off the tv and began to turn on the no control album from bad religion and chief one…you know… one of those regular days where you're all pissed off for no good reason… when I felt my phone begin to vibrate! Anticipating it was a female whom I had not yet disregarded (hey I give it time!) I picked up, and was hugely let down to hear the sound of my good homeboy (I love you guys but you motherfuckers don't excite me!). He spoke of a soiree of very little prestige transpiring. I believe his exact sentiments were something to the accord of "hey motherfucker, let's go to this rager, don't be a faggot." My friends got mad respect for me, by the way. *sigh*

Now as much as I wanted to fire up that hog leg and daydream of skateboarding in a swimming pool to the sounds of "I wanna conquer the world", I sure was bored. The kind of bored that makes you wanna kill a 30 pack and meet some broads. I told him to swing through and put on my chucks and before I knew it I could hear the muffled sounds of easy e rolling up, rattling the license plate of a his shiesty mazda protege like a woodpecker on codeine syrup. We hit the liquor store and grabbed a huge box of coors light and hit the highway. 8 road sodas, 3 stories about chicks we made out with who are now married to other friends, and an hour and a half later we arrived up this country-ass dirt road that had to be the one john denver sang about. we were at our destination.

The full moon frosted the tips of every tree in vicinity of bumfuck egypt, quietly nestled somewhere in the sierra nevadas, and we made our way down a hill to the jump off. When we hit the spot, I noticed that the bass was rattling the needles of the western yellow pine trees like tiny syringes in one of keith richard's wildest fantasies when immediately I saw her. I didn't know it yet, but she was the medusa who was going to turn my night into an oddessey. She had dark hair that reflected the moonlight, and the most beautiful eyes, although I could not tell the color because they were entirely composed of pupil. Looking into her eyes was like peering into the ears of mickey mouse. She spoke happily but it was entirely through clinched teeth like she was furious. It was epic.

After about 10 minutes of banter about liking this music, and wanting to visit australia one day, the girl asks me to do her a favor. . . . Strangely, I said "sure…?"……. what she said then changed my night foreverrrrrr. . . ."Put your finger in this bag and then lick it….."…

Instantaneously I was overwhelmed by the taste of what seemed to be the dip from who framed roger rabbit. I winced, and then before I knew it I was thinking about going to australia and how I really like people who I typically hate, and I realized I was in over my head. My jaw swung like a ferris wheel and I was feeling like a werewolf under the full moon, so naturally I was inclined to take as many silver bullets to the face as possible. Terrified, I began pondering my entire life, and wondering what was wrong with the world, all at the same time… I began having sympathy for issues which I'd taken a stand against… and I began to miss people whom I'd completely written off…My hands and face beaded with sweat….what was going on here?

This continued for hours, and against the backdrop of the trees and the silver moon, ravenously, I kept tearing through beer after beer until I blinked and felt an intense heat on my face…. before I opened my eyes, I thought it was my face melting off, which would have been no surprise…. but alas….it was the red hot dashboard of the mazda protege in which I rode in….I had somehow fallen asleep on the brown vinyl surface on which my own sweat and dried up saliva glistened in my eye to greet the brand new day. I was home….but what happened last night??? Was it all a dream?? I felt like a new person, and although I felt like complete garbage, I was so happy to be alive.

I looked in my pocket when I got home…and all I found in my jacket was a rubber hair tie, and this cd entitled "big dipper" which I've uploaded for your listening pleasure. This music will forever remind me of the nights I spent with my teeth chattering and my internal temperature fluxing, and I hope some of you enjoy it <3 cheers.
